I finally got to take one of those bus tours, after all these years of going into NYC. It was cold, but damn did I get close to that traffic light. And we passed a few of Madonna's estates which made me unecessarily excited.

I haven't done any art (aside from photography) in a few days. I'm such a slacker. Ugh.

Looks better in fullsize. Probably going to render it some more. Maybe color.

I'm trying to do some art at least once everyday during winter break. I tried this last summer, and I let myself down a few times, but it's always worth attempting to motivate myself.

Well, I'm home. Trip back wasn't too bad, no traffic so it was good. I left the room at the ungodly hour of 6am, and got off the bus in NYC around 12:30. So yeah. It was weird that morning, because I woke up and just kind of laid in my bed thinking about how much I was going to miss school. That has never happened before.

Guess it was a good semester.

I played Guitar Hero literally all day today. My arms hurt. My ranking still sucks. I placed top 10 in some tournaments.

Ships and Dip

Our final project for animation basics 2 this semester. A little collabo, with some experimentation in sound.

I think I slacked a bit on my part of the project, and I regret it now, looking at it as a whole. I always come up with these revelations a bit too late.

Can't wait to get home.

Can't wait to go home.

Don't fret! (hahaha)

I have been unbelievably unmotivated and unable to draw lately, and it's frustrating me to no end.

A little less than two weeks, and I'm out of here. Finals are not going well so far... as in, they're not really going at all, as in I haven't done work for most of them.

As in, FAIL.

So I did some illustrations for a friend who was writing a children's book for school or something, and I pulled 17 of these out of my ass in under 24 hours, so they look pretty lame, but whatever.

Here are some highlights. They're backwards, though. So the later pages are first because Photobucket has the worst html generator in the world.

If you're wondering, the story is about a monkey named Joshua who wants to play violin but his parents and schoolmates are like, "No, wtf, that's so stupid! Haha." but he overcomes their harsh words and becomes a violin player and then his parents are proud and shit. Sounds like my life, only without the my-parents-are-proud part.

I have to go to Best Buy tomorrow to see if I can exchange my guitar for another. Skipping illustration too. I'm so fed up with that class. Got some good comments about my animation homework (posted below). That's a first in a while.

I drew some tigers.

Guitar Hero 3 has been ruling my life, and my arms and wrists are feeling it.

I have homework, bleh. I hate when I do my homework just to get it done... because it usually turns out really bad, and you can tell I didn't put any effort into it. One of the drawbacks of having to be creative for your school work all the time.

I just downloaded season 3 of Rocko's Modern Life, and it rocks.

World and GH3

Homework for illustration, but more importantly....

This is Not Computer Animation

We were introduced to Corel Painter X today in class... but I kind of zoned out and just doodled with the tablet. Painter is so cool. I really want to take a digital painting course.

Computer animation class is everything but that. It feels more like film class than anything at this point, and the teacher drones on and on about stuff to the point that we can't even care about what he's saying anymore. It's a real shame, since it was the only class I was really looking forward to.

My future as an animator is looking grim these days.

Walk Cycle 2006

From freshman year, just never uploaded it.

Walk cycle with background timing.

Ashley Wood

Good stuff:

Do you ever do a lot of stuff but not really feel like you're doing anything in the long run?

That's what art school feels like.

560 frames
5 hours

Needs work: timing, run cycles, patience.

My kid could paint that.

How come I'd never heard of Marla Olmstead before.

Now I kind of wish I hadn't.

Barrel Distortion

POP goes the weasel.

This idea was definitely from my grade school years, but I was artistically inept and unable to represent it as well I did with this little flash ani. HAHA. This is so art.

In my post-hype after seeing Transformers the other week, I'd completely forgotten about this trailer that was shown before the movie...

I'm curious, but the site has little insight as of now...

If it turns out to be something cheesy, which there's a good chance it will, I'm going to be disappointed.

Transformers doodles

I kind of want to just post artwork and photography from now on. If only I could produce enough of either.

Been in a very black & white mood lately.
